Choose a tie wider than the clip so the bar does not extend beyond its edge. Slide it over both the tie and the shirt placket to hold them together, usually between the third and fourth shirt buttons. Do not force it over unusually thick fabric.
Use a soft cloth to remove fingerprints. Avoid abrasive polishes, household chemicals and prolonged moisture. Store separately from sharp jewellery or cufflinks to help preserve the finish. Remove the clip before laundering or ironing your tie and shirt.
